2009s All-Scrimmage Play Team Alive On NCAA 2011
by | August 30th, 2010
In addition to creating every team in the SP nation on NCAA 2011, I've also created (including actual rosters) the 2009 All Scrimmage Play team inside the game. What only existed on paper is now accessible by download. Check out the brightly colored unis! Some numbers had to be switched up a bit because of repeats, but we tried to give each player the number closest to their own or from another sport they played. Here's a few screenshots of the squad, their uniforms and profiles. Craig Gill, Buckingham's head coach and SP's 2009 coach of the year, gets the nod as coach of the team. Also, keep scrolling down because we've got three videos of the team in action below.

A first teamer on both sides of the ball, here's former Woodberry Forest running back and defensive back and current Stanford safety Ed Reynolds making a big defensive play on the pass by Covenant's Lee Coppock.
Then one of the area's top little big men, Buckingham County's Maurice Taylor, makes several big time moves, avoiding multiple tacklers and taking it to the house.
First-teamers Schuler and Dom Losco hookup on a perfectly underthrown 26-yard fade here, completely fooling the defense.
Why Grills With?
First, Scrimmage Play’s blog needed a name, and the Grills With, served by the fine folks over at the White Spot here in Charlottesville, is delicious. Why not name it after a delicious local specialty like grilled doughnuts topped in ice cream?
Second, the name Grills With implies that it’s perfect with whatever you order at the White Spot, a Gus Burger (if you didn’t know, with an egg), a Motor Burger (a double with a slice of ham and an egg) or by itself. It won't replace the meal, but it's a great complement. The Scrimmage Play blog will serve a similar purpose. You could find anything here that’ll go nicely with what’s already in the site or in the magazine.
And if you haven’t had a Grills With, go, now and see the gang at the White Spot. You won’t be sorry.
